How to establish vpn connection in macbook pro (snow lep..10.6) if i have an .ovpn file?

Hello, i wonder if anyone out there can assist me on my networking issue?

I have a macbook pro with Snow Leopard OSX 10.6..
I also have an .ovpn file with all my server credentials.

How can i establish an vpn connection? Tried using 3rd party software like Tunnelblik & Cisco but no luck
